British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced the decision as part of London’s package of unilateral punitive measures in response to the military operation conducted by the Russian Armed Forces on Ukrainian territory.
Rosaviatsiya stated in a communique that Moscow reserves the right to implement similar measures “to ensure that the principle of parity and equal rights for allocated airlines is respected.”
The air agency drew attention that British airlines have planned this Friday 70 transit flights in Russian airspace and two flights from London to Moscow.
