Security concerns about the growing and provocative expansion of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to the east are understandable to all independent countries that oppose US domination, Bahadori Jahromi wrote on Twitter.

The official highlighted adherence to international and humanitarian law and trust in dialogue and diplomacy as essential requirements to end conflicts.

The president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, pointed out on Thursday that NATO is a “serious threat” to the security and stability of independent countries during a telephone communication with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Ali Shamjani, said on his par that “the crisis in Ukraine could be an instructive lesson for the West.”

Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh declared Iran’s willingness to help resolve the Ukraine crisis through dialogue and diplomatic channels without the intervention of third parties.
