The note explains that the plan consisted of suicide bombings and rocket-propelled grenade shots against targets in the southern suburbs of Beirut, where the Party of God has the greatest support.

The text praised the authorities’ efforts to prevent the enemy from taking advantage of the discontent over the deteriorating financial and economic situation in the country.

Earlier, Lebanon’s Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi confirmed the arrest of a group recruiting youths to carry out suicide bombings with explosive belts and grenades.

Mawlawi said that the gang planned to carry out actions in three Shiite Muslim sites in south Beirut.
