The statement indicated that a possible tightening of hostilities between the two countries could lead to significantly limit possibilities of providing consular assistance to Ukrainians in Russia.
According to Russia’s Acting Emergencies Minister Alexander Chupriyan, over 96,000 residents of the Donetsk People’s Republics (DPR) and Lugansk (LPR) arrived in Russia from the start of the evacuation through Wednesday morning.
In the city of Rostov-on-Don, one of the closest points to the border with Ukraine, Mr. Chupriyan noted there are currently 230 temporary accommodation centers for refugees in 12 Russian regions, the TASS news agency reported.
Mr. Chupriyan detailed that more than 800 evacuees requested medical assistance, 76 of which were hospitalized, including 34 children.
