Experts recommend giving up drugs before adulthood

Washington, Feb 23 (Prensa Latina) A study has assured that quitting drug before reaching adulthood will help people guarantee good performance in their working activities, a specialized source revealed Wednesday.

According to the journal Addiction Research & Theory, if young people using drugs make the right decision in time, it will not harm their future chances in life.

The research results provide evidence that people who give up drugs before the age of 30 do not have less economic and relational success, nor a lower quality of life.

What seems to best predict low success outcomes in life is persistence (over a longer period of time) of cannabis and amphetamine use.

Given the high drug use rates among teens, scientists claim more research is needed to prevent the drug use persistence in adulthood, which is strongly linked to less success in life.

Scientists stressed that it is quite important to quit using drugs in early adulthood so as not to compromise overall health and well-being.
