According to a communique, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Redwan Hussien announced the Ethiopian authorities’ decision during a meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, with whom he discussed several issues of bilateral interest.
Hussien highlighted Pakistan’s firm position of principles in different international forums to support the African country, and handed over to Khan an invitation to visit Addis Ababa, sent by Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, the text adds.
The document also notes that the two states “built a solid foundation of friendship and cooperation, both bilaterally and multilaterally”, with prospects for accelerated growth since the beginning of the work at the embassy.
It also stresses that specialists from both countries are exploring ways and exchanging information to increase and diversify cooperation in several sectors of the economy, and strengthen the partnership on issues related to peace and security.
