The French navy’s aircraft carrier “Charles de Gaulle” and an accompanying combat group are taking part in the drills, in addition to several Rafale fighter jets, a military communique stated.

For its part, the Egyptian team includes several frigates and missile launchers, in addition to “F-16” fighters, Rafale fighter jets and MiG-29 jets, the text stressed.

The aim is to train the naval and air forces of both countries in the planning and management of joint combat operations so as to unite the operational concepts and exchange experience, he stressed.

Considered one of the strongest and most prepared in the region, the Egyptian Army participated last year in 41 military exercises alongside units from other countries, 29 of which took place on national territory, according to official data.
