During the 30th session of the Joint Higher Committee, the two countries signed several protocols to improve ties in higher education and scientific research, plant quarantining and logistics areas.
Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly met on Sunday with his Jordanian counterpart Bisher Al-Khasawneh, who arrived in Cairo accompanied by a large delegation from his country.
The delegation includes the Jordanian ministers of Transportation, Energy and Mineral Resources, Finance, Social Development, and Industry, Trade and Supply; as well as the president of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce and the chairperson of the Jordan Chamber of Industry.
In October 2021, Madbouly received Al-Khasawneh in the first visit by a foreign official to the new cabinet headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, located some 45 kilometers from Cairo.
Since March 2019, Egypt, Jordan and Iraq have held four trilateral summits -the last one held in Baghdad in June- to promote cooperation mechanisms and reinforce political consultation on regional issues.
