According to a message published by the foreign minister on his Twitter social network account, the exchange was also a space to express satisfaction with the positive state of political ties and explore fields of collaboration in economic and commercial matters.
Recently, the diplomatic representative held a dialogue with the vice president of the National Assembly of People’s Power (parliament) of Cuba, Ana María Mari Machado, where the intention to consolidate inter-parliamentary ties prevailed.
Also last December, both countries signed a memorandum of understanding to expand cooperation relations, during the visit to the Caribbean nation of a delegation from the Saudi Fund for Development (FSD).
According to the website of the Foreign Ministry, the members of the FSD toured the island from the 21st to the 28th of that month, in which they exchanged with officials from the Ministries of Public Health, Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, the National Institute of Resources Hydraulics, the Office of the Historian of the City of Havana and provincial authorities.
The visit was led by the director general of the Fund for Operations in Asia, Saud Ayid Al-Shammari.
