Havana, Feb 21 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez received today the ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Faisal bin Falah Al Harbi, and ratified the interest in strengthening bilateral relations.

According to a message published by the foreign minister on his Twitter social network account, the exchange was also a space to express satisfaction with the positive state of political ties and explore fields of collaboration in economic and commercial matters.

Recently, the diplomatic representative held a dialogue with the vice president of the National Assembly of People’s Power (parliament) of Cuba, Ana María Mari Machado, where the intention to consolidate inter-parliamentary ties prevailed.

Also last December, both countries signed a memorandum of understanding to expand cooperation relations, during the visit to the Caribbean nation of a delegation from the Saudi Fund for Development (FSD).

The visit was led by the director general of the Fund for Operations in Asia, Saud Ayid Al-Shammari.
