The Times of Israel quoted some excerpts of a letter by Meirav Eilon Shahar, Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations and international organizations in Geneva, in which he announces his country’s official stance.
Shahar criticized the team headed by South African Navi Pillay, former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.
The diplomat insisted on his country’s thesis of the alleged UN bias on that issue.
By 29 votes for, nine against and 14 abstentions, the Human Rights Council approved to investigate the Israeli crimes committed in the Palestinian enclave, where more than 250 people were killed during the 11 days of airstrikes.
