Paris, Feb 18 (Prensa Latina) Former French President François Hollande expressed concern about the impact of the United States economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba, during a meeting with Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment Rodrigo Malmierca on Friday.

En route to Havana after visiting to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where he participated in the Universal Exhibition in Dubai and signed bilateral agreements, Malmierca spoke in this capital with Hollande, in the company of Cuban Ambassador Otto Vaillant.

In addition to the consequences of the blockade imposed by Washington for more than 60 years, the former president (2012-2017) was interested in the results of Cuba’s fight against Covid-19.

Hollande acknowledged Cuba’s achievements in the fight against the pandemic, in particular the creation of its homegrown vaccines to protect its population.

Diplomatic sources described as excellent the reception by the former president, who shared experiences from his visit to Cuba in 2015 during the meeting.
