In a meeting with the Cuban ambassador here, Liurka Rodríguez, the president of that group, Nin Saphon, described as illegal and genocidal the economic, commercial and financial siege with which Washington has been trying for more than 60 years to frustrate the life project sovereignly chosen by the Island.
The legislator recalled Cuba’s valuable contributions to the Kingdom of Cambodia in health, education, sports and other areas, and her country’s consistent vote in the United Nations for the lifting of the blockade.
Rodriguez expressed her gratitude for this support and the actions of the solidarity movement with the island and presented the 60th Anniversary Seal of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples to the Parliamentary Group of Friendship with Cuba.
Earlier this year, the diplomat also presented the distinction to the Association of Cambodian Graduates in Cuba in recognition of their permanent solidarity with the homeland.
The award recognizes in an exceptional way the active work in defense of the Cuban Revolution, the spreading of the truth about the political, social and economic transformations in the Island , and the strengthening of friendship among peoples.
