During a meeting in Brussels, El-Sisi and Charles Michel, President of the European Council, agreed on the need to improve the channels of consultation about Libya, Egyptian presidential spokesman Bassam Rady stated in a communique.
The situation in that North African nation was deteriorated with a decision by the House of Representatives to appoint Fathi Bashagha as interim prime minister to replace Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, who refused to hand over power before the elections.
During the talks, El-Sisi and Michel discussed the fight against terrorism and extremism.
El-Sisi also met with King Philippe of Belgium, with whom he agreed to boost the bilateral ties, especially in economic matters.
The Egyptian head of State is in the Belgian capital to participate in the sixth summit between the African Union and the European Union.
