The initiative will give continuity to the actions that have been held since 2015 every month on this day, particularly in the cities of Vancouver, Montreal and Ottawa.
According to the call, among the speakers is Carlos Lazo, a Cuban activist who lives in the United States and is also the coordinator of the Bridges of Love solidarity project.
The organizers also urge to share photos with posters, T-shirts and banners on social media with hashtags such as #Cubavsbloqueo #UnBlockCuba #EliminaElBloqueo.
At the same time, they will demand that the White House removes Cuba from the unilateral list of countries sponsors of terrorism.
The initiatives in Canada add to the growing global wave of support for Cuba in its struggle to lift that siege, tightened during Donald Trump’s term in office (2017-2021).
