Slovakia to eliminate Covid-19 certificate, return to normalcy

Bratislava, Feb 16 (Prensa Latina) Slovak Prime Minister Eduard Heger has announced the elimination of Covid-19 Certificate to have access to work and leisure events in the country.

The new measure will come into force on February 28, so all restrictions on access to stores and non-essential services as well as cultural and sporting events will be eliminated.

We hope to return to normalcy, Mr. Heger said, while claiming Covid-19 vaccine will continue being available for those who want to protect themselves.

Slovakia, with 5.5 million inhabitants, is one of EU´s most hit by Covid-19, reporting 18,045 deaths. Such a figure results in a cumulative rate of 332 per 100,000 inhabitants, according to the British Our World in Data observer.
