France eases restrictions set to fight Covid-19

Francia, Covid-19, restriccines, suspensión
Paris, Feb 16 (Prensa Latina) The French Government on Wednesday has put an end to restrictions ordered to curb the spread of Covid-19, especially in the leisure and entertainment sector, as a result of the progress in the fight against the pandemic.

As of this Wednesday, nightclubs will be open, after they were closed on December 10, and people will once again be allowed to attend a concert, eat and drink in settings like cinemas and trains, as well as consume standing up in bars.

Thus, the process to ease the measures announced last month by Prime Minister Jean Castex, which had its first phase on February 2, continued when the first to go are outdoor facemask mandates, teleworking, and capacity limits in stadiums and shows.

By late February or early March, the sanitary protocol will be eased at schools when the winter holidays end.

Only restrictions such as facemask mandatory indoors and on public transport, and the requirement of a vaccination pass to travel and have access to cinemas, theaters, museums, stadiums and other facilities, remain in force.

On Tuesday, the deadline to receive a booster dose of a Covid-19 vaccine after a second shot was reduced to four months, so that more than four million French citizens are at risk of losing their vaccination pass.
