The report from the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) stated that 12,596 patients are in hospitals or at home nationwide, 8,170 of whom are suspected cases, 102 are under epidemiological surveillance and 4,324 are active cases (427 fewer than those reported on Monday).
Of that total of 630 cases, 598 were contacts of confirmed patients, 21 were infected abroad and the source of contagion was not identified in 11 cases.
At a press briefing on television, MINSAP added that 1,057 patients were discharged after recovering from the disease, so the number of recovered patients rose to 1,049,295 (98.8 percent).
Of the active cases, 4,290 are clinically stable while 34 are being treated in intensive care units: 20 are in a critical condition and 14 are seriously ill.
The province with the highest Covid-19 incidence is Holguin with 128 cases.
So far, Cuba has accumulated 1,062,154 contagions and 8,476 death since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country on March 11, 2020.
