There were seven deaths associated with the disease, one more than the previous day, according to the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap), whose results were obtained from 16,836 samples taken to detect the pathogen.
The number of patients admitted continued a gradual decrease, this time by 526 to 14,283, including 9,177 suspected, 107 under surveillance and 4,99 confirmed active (369 less than on Thursday), said the Ministry.
Through its usual daily report, it highlighted that the authorities granted 1,250 discharges (362 more than those diagnosed) and to date, 1,460,309 patients have been recovered (98.7 percent).
Health centers are treating 51 people in intensive care: 25 critically ill and 26 seriously ill, while the provinces with the highest number of cases are Ciego de Avila (146), Holguin (132) and Sancti Spiritus (120), the only ones with over a hundred cases.
Cuba accumulates one million 59,834 people infected with the coronavirus since March 11, 2020 and the total number of deceased reached 8,467.
The data released by the Minsap reported a lethality rate on the island of 0.80 percent, lower than the world average of 1.43 and 1.8 in the Americas.
