Set to begin next Monday, this measure is another effort of the island’s health authorities to increase and have the majority of the population vaccinated.
The Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero, chaired this Thursday the weekly meeting of the Government’s temporary working group for the prevention and control of the pandemic, where the news was announced.
In this meeting, Marrero spoke about the enlistment of the Digital Certificate of vaccination against Covid-19, good news for the tourism professionals and workers of the sector in this nation.
For his part, the head of the Ministry of Public Health, José Ángel Portal, explained that the virtual document will be available from the aforementioned date.
He said that this service (in its initial stage it could be considered a test), has information on the website https://salud.msp.gob.cu.
In this way, Cuba joins an initiative which started in Europe that ease the movement of passengers throughout the island and benefits the mechanisms for tourism, especially considering the number of people who work in this area.
The digitalization process already covers about 80 percent of the vaccinated population with the complete immunization plan. Users will be able to download the document to their cell phones and also print them.
The health Minister informed that people who cannot access the document, for various reasons, should go to their polyclinics to request its digitalization.
This initiative is another action of the authorities to protect the citizenship and to strengthen the economic measures for development, in this sense, tourism plays an essential role.
