The document signed in Minsk between the Aviation Department of Belarus and the National Civil Aviation Institute (INAC) of Venezuela considers that the designated airlines will have the right to operate flights between both countries, the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release.
The signing of the memorandum of understanding was part of the working agenda developed in Belarus by a Venezuelan delegation, headed by Air Transport Deputy Minister and President of state-owned airline Conviasa Ramon Velasquez and INAC president Juan Texeira.
As part of the agreements signed during the 8th Meeting of the Belarus-Venezuela High-Level Binational Commission, held in Caracas in December 2021, the highest aeronautical authorities from both countries decided to coordinate this visit to make progress in the technical possibilities of a future air services agreement, the source stated.
During the aforementioned meetings, the authorities discussed all technical elements, as well as the commercial, economic and political advantages to establish direct flights between Belarus and Venezuela.
