During the meeting, they valued the state of bilateral relations as excellent and agreed on the willingness to continue developing them.

Both sides held a cordial dialogue and reaffirmed the close ties of friendship that have united the two peoples and governments for 43 years.

Iran and Cuba expressed their firm political will to confront the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the United States which affect both peoples.

The Cuban diplomat was also received the day before by Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian.

Cuba and the Islamic Republic of Iran have maintained uninterrupted diplomatic relations since August 8, 1979.
