Health sector specialists attribute the crisis in that central region to the increase in the number of people infected by the pandemic due to the highly transmissible Omicron Covid-19 variant that is proliferating in the country.
The population of that territory, which includes Brasilia, the country’s third largest city, is also waiting that the supply of influenza medicines, announced by the Government, improves in March, Correio Braziliense added.
The inventory of medicines to fight flu-like symptoms, such as syrups, Vitamin C and cough drops, has fallen in pharmacies along with those for Covid-19, and the problem is also affecting distributors.
On the other hand, the country’s situation with Covid-19 remains as the world’s third highest serious nation, after accumulating 26,605,000 Covid-19 contagions and 632,720 deaths, according to Worldometer, a website that reports statistics and charts on the pandemic.
