Belgian party acknowledges Cuba’s resistance against blockade

Belgica-Partido-del-Trabajo-300x200
Brussels, Feb 8 (Prensa Latina) The Workers' Party of Belgium (PTB) on Tuesday acknowledged Cuba's resistance against the blockade that the United States has imposed on the country for more than six decades, a policy that is framed in Washington's interfering stance.

The party highlighted in a publication posted on social media that despite US aggressiveness, Cuba continues on its socialist path, as marked in recent days the 60th anniversary of the formalization of the blockade by means of Executive Order 3447, signed on February 3, 1962, by then President John F. Kennedy.

The United States has tried all this time to stifle Cuba economically, commercially and financially, as part of its purpose to suffocate any attempt by the countries of the South to bet on independence, the document stressed.

The PTB denounced the consequences of Washington’s blockade in the daily life of Cubans, from shortage of medicines and the impossibility of using computer programs to financial transactions.

However, Cuba is resisting, even when the blockade was tightened by the Donald Trump administration (2017-2021), a hostility that is still in force under Joe Biden’s Government, the text added.
