Cuba’s ambassador to Russia, Julio Garmendía, made statements to Prensa Latina denouncing the aggressiveness of Washington’s policy towards Cuba with the purpose of destroying its independent social process.
For his part, academic Leonid Savin, president of the Fidel Castro Foundation in Moscow, described the US policy towards Cuba as genocidal and in violation of international law.
Savin stressed that the Washington government maintains its policy of double standards towards Cuba by pressuring other nations to take sides against the island, while ignoring the call of the international community to eliminate the blockade.
Ekaterina Andreeva, a young translator for the Russian YouTube channel Europe for Cuba, described the unilateral measures imposed by the United States against Cuba as a “true crime”.
Andreeva rejected the countless fake news and propaganda against Cuba growing in the Western media and on social networks, at a time when Cuba is suffering an economic crisis caused by the blockade and the global impact caused by the Covid-19.
