According to the calendar released by the island’s Ministry of Tourism, the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology will organize events such as the Congress Controlling Diabetes, to be held from August 31 to September 4, and New strategies in the fight against chronic and emerging infectious diseases, scheduled between October 22 and 25.
The institution will also participate in the BioCubAgro meeting: From biotechnological research to agricultural products (from May 2 to 6), and from March 27 to 30 it will organize the BioAqua Congress.
The Finlay Vaccine Institute, for its part, will be in charge of the Immunopharmacology Convention that will host the Vaccipharma event, to be held in June in the province of Matanzas, about 100 kilometers east of the capital.
With more than 30 years of work, the most recent milestone of the Cuban scientific pole is obtaining three anti-Covid-19 vaccines (Abdala, Soberana 02 and Soberana Plus) while working on two other candidates (Soberana 01 and Mambisa).
