In statements to Prensa Latina, FAD president, Dr. Fernando Cebamanos, described that policy as unjust and inhumane that, since the triumph of the Revolution in 1959, has been trying to generate discontent among the Cuban population and affect its economy.
He also rejected the extraterritorial nature of the blockade, imposed by the US administration, an undeclared war in the economic and financial order, but also aggressions such as the invasion on Playa Giron (Bay of Pigs), in central Cuba, in 1961, whose the military action was defeated in less than 72 hours, he emphasized.
Cebamanos also demanded the return of the territory illegally occupied by the US naval base in Guantanamo, in eastern Cuba.
On Thursday, representatives of the National Coordinating Committee of Solidarity with Cuba, the Marti’s Association of Cuban Residents in Panama, press media such as Bayano Digital and the Federico Britton National Communal Movement also condemned the blockade.
