The oldest and most widespread Italian Cuba solidarity organization affirmed in a communiqué that it will continue its campaign “denouncing and demanding the end of this macroscopic, anachronistic and illegal injustice.”
In that sense, the text noted that the membership card its members will receive this year is dedicated to the struggle against the genocidal blockade that Washington has imposed on Cuba for over 60 years.
Summarizing the process through which the United States has deployed its strategy to try to overthrow the Cuban Revolution since 1959, the statement highlighted the approval of the Torricelli and Helms Burton acts in the 1990s, with their extraterritorial scope.
In addition, the document recalled the tightening of the blockade by virtue of 243 measures approved by President Donald Trump, which are still in force under the current Joe Biden administration.
