According to a press release from the Egyptian Executive, the two sides agreed during a telephone conversation to hold continuous consultations and exchange views to seek solutions to several conflicts in the region.

They also discussed many aspects of the cooperation and coordination between this country and the European bloc.

Von der Leyen praised Cairo’s efforts in the fight against terrorism and its success in combating irregular migration.

The war in Yemen, the conflict in Israel and the Arab country and in Syria, the economic and political crisis in Lebanon, as well as the tension in Libya after a decade of fighting are some of the most burning issues the Middle East is facing at present.
