In Moscow, like in the rest of the world, the coronavirus incidence has rapidly grown due to its highly contagious Omicron variant, the Moscow Government warned on its official website.
It stressed that children are getting sick more and more often and the percentage of children hospitalized due to the disease has also increased, so non-compulsory and free vaccination has been activated at several points in this capital.
The operational center for the control and monitoring of the coronavirus situation in Moscow on Monday reported 23,417 new contagions in the last 24 hours.
The Russian capital has reported 2,357,351 cases since the pandemic broke out.
On Sunday, 75 people died in Moscow due to complications related to the disease, totaling 38,962 deaths, while the total number of recovered people was 5,805, totaling 1,962,382 so far.
