Marti’s intellectual work and life continue guiding those who are currently fighting for the principles of emancipation and equality among human beings, the participants said at a ceremony at the Cuban Embassy in Luanda.
“Blood and tears have shed the best children of our country who dream of justice,” worker Martha Martinez summarized when referring to her country’s history of struggle.
Today is the time to acknowledge our National Hero, but every day of the year is for the defense of the Revolution that he dreamed of and we continue building, she said on behalf of the group.
The meeting, chaired by Ambassador Esther Armenteros, also served to recall Marti’s vocation in the political thinking of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro (1926-2016), and the continuity of his ideology, as Cuba is fighting the battle against the Covid-19 pandemic and the increase in unilateral sanctions by the Government of the United States.
