Three people died on Tuesday due to complications related to the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, totaling 8,376 deaths so far.
Cuba’s lethality rate is 0.81 percent, much lower than 1.58 percent recorded globally and 1.90 in the Americas, the Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) noted.
Data released on Wednesday indicate that 31,031 patients are in hospitals or home nationwide, 14,382 of whom are suspected cases, 233 are under epidemiological surveillance and 16,416 are active cases.
Of the total of active cases, 16,355 are clinically stable while 61 are being treated in intensive care units: 22 are in a critical condition and 39 are seriously ill.
In the last few hours, 3,074 patients were discharged, so the total number of recovered people is 1,006,319, accounting for 97.6 percent of all cases.
On Tuesday, all molecular biology laboratories in Cuba made 27,310 PCR tests in real time to detect the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, totaling 12,547,768 samples so far.
