Cuba reports 2,764 Covid-19 cases and six deaths

Havana, Jan 25 (Prensa Latina) Cuba on Tuesday reported 2,764 new Covid-19 cases, which represents a decrease of 543 contagions with respect to Monday's report, and six deaths due to complications related to the disease.

According to the daily report released by the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), 30,885 patients are in hospitals or homes, 14,138 are suspected cases, 241 are under epidemiological surveillance and 16,506 are active cases (651 fewer than those reported on Monday).

Of the total of cases, 2,702 were contacts of confirmed cases, 30 were infected abroad and in 32 cases it was not possible to identify the source of contagion.

The MINSAP added that 3,409 patients were discharged from hospitals, so the total number of recovered people is 1,003,245, accounting for 97.6 percent of all cases.

A total of 16,506 patients were admitted in hospitals, 16,443 of them are clinically stable, while 63 are being treated in intensive care units: 20 are in critical conditions and 43 are seriously ill.

The province with the highest number of Covid-19 patients is Holguin, with 441 cases.

With these statistics, Cuba has accumulated 1,028,183 contagions and 8,373 deaths since March 11, 2020.
