Upon exchanging congratulations on the start of the Lunar New Year with Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Vietnamese Communist Party, the president advocated for maintaining closer communication in 2022 to promote a sound and sustainable development of mutual ties.

He suggested that the two sides preserve the spirit of neighbors, friends, comrades and good partners, consolidate their long-standing friendship and strengthen the political trust.

He also called to enhance the pragmatic cooperation, resolve differences appropriately and jointly address the challenges they still face.

According to local media, Phu Trong also called to strengthen the mutual political trust and increase exchanges in several fields, particularly in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, trade and investment.
