According to Granma newspaper, the event will take place from February 7 to 11 under the slogan: University and Innovation for Sustainable and Inclusive Development.
The meeting will also include conferences by Frances Pedró, director of the UNESCO International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean; and the intellectuals Frei Betto and Atilio Borón.
As part of the event, since January 17 to February 4, the Cuban Ministry of Higher Education offers pre-congress courses through a virtual environment platform, and will grant an academic credit.
Among the central activities of the call are the forums on higher education and Sustainable Development Goals, of ministers and authorities of the sector, and perspectives for this type of education.
In addition, symposiums will be held that will deal with topics such as the university-company link, knowledge management, the role of student and union organizations, and the training of competent professionals.
The previous edition of the Congress, in February 2020, concluded with the commitment of its over two thousand delegates to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
