Saudi Arabia accepts pilgrims immunized with approved vaccines

ARabia Saudita, peregrinos, vacunación
Riyadh, Jan 20 (Prensa Latina) Saudi Arabian authorities on Thursday suspended quarantine for pilgrims to the Islamic holy sites who are immunized with vaccines from Oxford-AstraZeneca, Pfizer-BioNTech, Johnson & Johnson and Moderna.

A communique from the Saudi Ministry of Health revealed that the compliance with the approved doses is sufficient to visit the Kingdom and fulfill the Umrah and Hajj pilgrimages. Umrah can undertake it at any time of the year and Hajj is marked by a specific date.

However, those vaccinated with the Chinese-made vaccines Sinopharm and Sinovac or others must remain in isolation for three days and then present a negative PCR certificate.

Regarding the Omicron variant of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, the text states that precautionary measures will be taken to visit the holy cities of Mecca and Medina.

Pilgrims should register on the Eatmarna apps and the Qodum or Muqeem platforms to verify if they are complying with the approved vaccines in the Kingdom.
