According to Virgilio Silva, president of the National Port Company, the works in this South Caribbean area will be concluded by late January, and explained that vessels towards the city of Miami, in the United States, will also sail from the dock.
The executive informed about the signing of a contract related to the logistic project for the modernization of Puerto Corinto, the country’s main commercial port and the second regarding the arrival of cruise ships, and the opening of an operations building at Puerto Sandino.
Between January 10 and 16, the company recorded 50,795 tons of cargo in areas fit out for this purpose and handled seven foreign vessels with imported products such as household appliances, tires and furniture.
