“I had an important telephone conversation with brother President Vladimir Putin. We exchanged on issues related to existing cooperation in various strategic areas at the highest level, a relationship that is strengthened by the unbreakable union of our peoples,” Maduro stressed in his Twitter account.
According to a statement issued by the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, the heads of state took stock of the progress in multidimensional cooperation, and highlighted a 12 percent increase in trade and the launch of air connectivity between Moscow and Caracas.
President Vladimir Putin conveyed to his Venezuelan counterpart his congratulations for the victory in the regional and municipal elections of November 21, 2021, and extended greetings to all the people of Venezuela.
Likewise, the Russian dignitary expressed all his multidimensional support for the defense of sovereignty and in pursuit of the development of the South American country.
For his part, Maduro thanked the Russian Government for its support in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, through the supply of vaccines and medicines to guarantee the health of the Venezuelan population.
He also ratified the solidarity with the Eurasian nation and the rejection of the campaigns of provocations and manipulations against Moscow by the West.
President Putin reiterated his invitation to the Venezuelan president to visit Russia, in order to deepen cooperation between the two countries, the statement concluded.
