“Washington received specific proposals that are designed to protect our citizens and European countries from explosive threats and unpredictable developments,” Volodin said during the opening the spring parliamentary session.
He pointed out that Moscow demanded long-term binding legal guarantees in the face of aggressive US actions near Russia’s borders. “But as of today, as you know, there is no response from Washington,” he said.
According to the deputy, it is now up to the White House, whose unfriendly actions forced Russia to demand agreements.
“In this sense, let us support (Vladimir Putin) in the initiatives that guarantee the security not only of our State, but also of the European countries, the security of the whole world,” he emphasized.
The head of the State Duma called for contributing to security issues so that the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have the support of the Russian parliamentary body.
