Romanian prime minister accused of plagiarism

ministro-rumano
Bucharest, Jan 18 (Prensa Latina) Romanian Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca is questioned on Tuesday from the opposition following the publication of a journalistic investigation that accuses him of plagiarism.

In that writing, Ciuca is accused of falsifying much of his thesis with which in 2013, he became a doctor in military sciences by the National Defense University in Bucharest.

Dacian Ciolos, leader of the opposition and the central USR PLUS party, asked the newly-appointed head of the Government to clarify the fact and in case it is true, he must resign.

Ciuca on his side denied the accusation, he said that he wrote his doctoral thesis in an “honest” way and in line with “the legal requirements existed at the time”, and asked that his work is analyzed by the Ethics Commission of the National Defense University, according to the national press. The investigation, posted by journalist Emilia Sercan on PressOne, explains that mostly the pages of the document are replicas of printed texts “that were not detected by any anti-plagiarism program.”
