With an admirable career, Cuban musician and composer Ignacio “Nachito” Herrera, who currently lives in the United States, will open jazz sessions at the Avellaneda Hall of Havana’s Teatro Nacional, accompanied by talented instrumentalists from Habana Jazz band.
Two-time Grammy winner, Herrera returns to his country to once again honor the island’s tradition of rhythms and genres with a repertoire of works that unite classical music and jazz.
On the same stage, the founder of the event and Cuban showman, Bobby Carcasses, will present the show “Del Blues a la Timba-de la Timba al Jazz” with his Big BandAfrojazz, featuring musicians such as Cesar Lopez, Roberto Carcasses, Jamil Shery, Edgar Martinez, Octavio Kotan, Tanmy Lopez, Miguel Angel Garcia (Wiwi), Belinda Guerra, Laura Valdivia and dancer Reinaldo Baro.
Until January 23, jazz celebrates its biggest festival in Cuba, which bets on the mixture of styles and genres.
