The general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Nguyen Phu Trong, and the president of the country, Nguyen Xuan Phuc, exchanged messages with the general secretary of the Communist Party and president of China, Xi Jinping.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his Chinese counterpart, Li Keqiang, and the head of the National Assembly, Vuong Dinh Hue, and the chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, Li Zhanshu, also exchanged messages.
They also exchanged congratulations with Vietnamese Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son and Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
Through their leaders, the two countries reiterated the will to strengthen friendship, political trust and bilateral cooperation.
Last Thursday, Minh Chinh and Li held a telephone conversation in which they welcomed the socio-economic progress of both nations in building socialism under the leadership of the respective Communist Parties.
The two heads of government praised the shared dividends of the bilateral strategic cooperation partnership, one of the results of which was to raise trade exchanges to 60 billion dollars in 2021.
They also agreed to maintain channels of dialogue on the common land and maritime borders in the interest of good coexistence and peace and stability in the region.
