French unions prepare new solidarity shipment for Cuba

Paris, Jan 17 (Prensa Latina) Representatives of organizations of the French General Confederation of Labor (CGT) confirmed today they are preparing a new shipment by sea as part of their solidarity with Cuba against the US blockade.

In a meeting with the Cuban ambassador to France, Otto Vaillant, trade unionists offered details of the initiative, consisting of the shipment in February or March of food, medicine and basic necessities.

It is about the continuity of the Containers for Cuba operation, launched by the Federation of Railway Workers, which was joined by many CGT unions, both departmental and from sectors of society.

Through the collection of funds disclosed on social networks and by other means, its promoters call for solidarity with the island, attacked by more than 60 years of US economic, commercial and financial blockade.

Ambassador Vaillant thanked the new gesture of the members of the CGT.
