Inflation in China ends at 0.9 percent in 2021

Beijing, jan 12 (Prensa Latina) China reported that inflation ended 2021 with a growth of 0.9 percent, a figure well below the three points forecast.

As pointed out by the National Bureau of Statistics, the figure is also lower than the 2.5 percent of 2020, with the value of food as the key factor in the behavior of the consumer price index.

Inflation rose to 1.5 points in December, thus reversed the upward trend shown in the previous two months.

During this period, the cost of pork meat and of fresh vegetables fell 11.8 points and 10.6, respectively.

Meanwhile, wholesale inflation in the industrial sector soared 8.1 percent in 2021, linked to the rise in prices of raw materials and energy for a few months.

Only in December said indicator rose 10.3 percent, but still lower than the 12.9 of November, thanks to the implementation of policies to ensure supply and stabilize the prices of the aforementioned products.
