The Foreign Minister of Iran Hossein Amir Abdolahian assured that Tehran will neutralize the embargoes, even if the negotiations aimed at abolishing them and revitalizing the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) or “nuclear deal” are unsuccessful.
“That means we will not wait years to see the results of the negotiations in Vienna,” he told local television.
Such a conviction, he added, derives from President Ebrahim Raeisi’s order to the Council of Ministers to seek sustainable economic development with their own forces.
Amir Abdolahian described the Iranian Executive as pragmatic and that it awaits a response from the 4+1 group (United Kingdom, France, Russia and China plus Germany), JCPOA signatories, especially from the West and the United States.
It is the moment for the European trio, he said, to show their good faith, just as Washington, an indirect participant in the talks in Vienna.
“If all the parties return to fulfill their commitments under the JCPOA, signed in 2015, we will also resume the agreement just as we signed it,” he said.
