The decade, which is commemorated from 2022 to 2032, will be focused on revitalizing and fostering indigenous languages existing in a great number of countries, UN´s official website reported.

The UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) will make available an online platform to make the exchange of information on activities and events much easier, the website added.

UNESCO goodwill ambassadors, such as Mexican actress Yalitza Aparicio, strongly support such actions and call for pressing measures to preserve indigenous language.
