In declarations to Prensa Latina, he specified that one of the initiatives is to organize the shipment of a new container with aid for Cuba in the health sector, which would follow the two shipped last year.
The intention is to launch the donation campaign in the spring, with the aim of sending it to the Island in September or October, he said.
Tiroler showed satisfaction for the results of the movement activated in May last year, which allowed until the end of December to collect one million 52 thousand Swedish crowns, more than 100 thousand Euros, the equivalent of an amount of more than one million syringes to help the vaccination in Cuba with its own immunogens.
According to the Swedish solidarity activist, contributions for this campaign came from dozens of people, most of them individuals, with donations ranging from 50 Kronas to thousands.
Part of the money collected, transferred to MediCuba Switzerland, was the result of activities organized by the association, said Tiroler, who assured that the syringe initiative exceeded the expectations of the group, which is very active in demanding the end to the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against the island.
He also explained to Prensa Latina that the permanent campaign of the Swedish-Cuban Solidarity Association to collect medicines for the Caribbean nation keeps going, while they set their sights on other goals, such as the aforementioned container.
