All provinces made their own contributions, but Havana stood out with the development and production of vaccine candidates, the Science, Technology and the Environment Minister Elba Rosa Pérez said at a press conference.
Amidst all achievements, we must honor the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, since he was main promoter of scientific knowledge in Cuba, Ms. Rosa Pérez stated.
According to the Science, Technology and the Environment Ministry (CITMA) report, it specifies that Havana has 137 scientific, technological and innovative centers, among them, 86 Research Centers, 34 Development and Innovation Units, 15 Scientific and Technological Services Centers.
Six facilities also hold the category of High Technology Company: Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, Center for Molecular Immunology, Center for Immunoassays, Center for Neuroscience of Cuba, AICA Laboratories and, Company of Information Technology and Advanced Telematic Services.
