Such figures also leave a positive balance of trade (BoT) of over $1.5 billion, the Bolivian News Agency reported, quoting Deputy Foreign Trade and Integration Minister Benjamin Blanco.
According to Mr. Blanco, these results had not been reached since 2014, yet the volume of exports increased in 2021. It means Bolivia was considered as a more productive nation.
“We are working together with coffee producers to directly promote export initiatives,” he said.
Mr. Blanco praised the international recognitions (gold and silver medals) Bolivia was awarded for its cocoa quality, allowing it to be exported at much higher prices.
Likewise, Mr. Blanco announced that they are planning to reach the European market exporting Bolivian wine in 2022.
The Luis Arce administration has managed to refloat Bolivia´s domestic economy in 2021, despite the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, opposition media hypes as well as the violent riots conducted by the extreme right and even assassination attempts.
