According to the vice president, the Augusto César Sandino ship will arrive in Cuba Friday afternoon with another food donation, an initiative linked to complementary, uninterrupted and brotherhood ties between the two countries.
On December 5, Nicaragua sent a batch of 50 food containers (rice, beans and coffee) to Cuba. The shipments, donated by the government of the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN), are intended to provide humanitarian collaboration to Cuba, a nation affected by an acute economic crisis as a result of Covid-19.
Cuba is currently experiencing a complex epidemiological situation, tightened by the economic, commercial and financial US blockade and 243 measures imposed by former President Donald Trump. 55 of these measures were implemented amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
