Cubans residing in the country who do not have a vaccination scheme, in addition to the above measures, will be taken a sample for RT-PCR and will be directed to comply with a mandatory eight-day quarantine in a designated hotel with payment of costs, including accommodation and transportation.
On the seventh day, the press release added, a new sample will be taken which, if negative, will allow the traveler to be discharged from quarantine the following day.
All crew members and passengers of merchant vessels who must enter Cuba and come from foreign ports must present a complete vaccination scheme and a PCR test at the point of entry.
On the other hand, aircraft and cruise ship crews staying less than 48 hours in the national territory will be exempted from these measures.

Cruise and pleasure boat passengers will present an international vaccination certificate.
Meanwhile, foreign travelers who arrive in Cuba and are part of the enrollment of international schools, scholarships in national institutions, technicians and foreign collaborators will fulfill an eight-day quarantine in their respective centers, and a PCR will be performed on the seventh day after arrival.
In the national territory, all travelers positive who test positive for the disease will be admitted in designated health institutions, as well as the isolation of contacts in authorized centers or at home, provided that the necessary conditions exist and compliance with this measure is guaranteed.
Taking into account the high transmissibility of the Omicron variant and its presence already in the country, mass events are suspended to prevent crowds.
